The sky above us begins with two layers: the troposphere and the stratosphere. Most of life’s turbulence—weather, storms, and clouds—happens in the lower troposphere. The stratosphere above it is where planes fly higher and faster, above the chaos.
In the same way, many spend the first decade or two of their careers building their business through challenges and hard work—like a rocket lifting through turbulence. Eventually, they reach a stable altitude: success, confidence, financial strength.
But then comes a choice. Some coast into retirement. Others—visionary ones—feel a deeper calling: to use their experience, resources, and influence to do something truly grand. To reach beyond personal success, and build something meaningful.
This is the Stratosphere stage of life—a time for breakthrough innovation, bold new ventures, and contribution to the greater good. It’s the stage where legendary leaders like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates chose to give back, leaving a legacy that transcends wealth.
Like every great journey, this phase is more powerful when shared with others on the same path—those who are ready to rise higher, together.

Source of Wisdom
To empower one’s second-half-of-life endeavors with profound wisdom
After accumulating fifty years of experience in classical learnings and practicing, our Guiding Founder, Geshe Michael Roach finally decided to undertake the translation of Nāgārjuna’s Prajñā (also known as the Fundamental Verses on the Middle Way) and Tsongkhapa’s Ocean of Reason (a detailed commentary on the Prajñā). These two monumental works are hailed as unparalleled masterpieces at the pinnacle of the long history of Eastern wisdom.
Prajñā wisdom is the supreme essence of Eastern classic wisdom, like sunshine illuminating the past, present, and future of the path of life, endowing students with the eyes of wisdom to see the truth and dispel confusion. This course will take this as its core, integrating the professor’s years of experience in both business and life, tailor-made for SLP students.
The latter half of life’s journey is not an end, nor has the first half of the next journey yet to arrive—perhaps we are already in the midst of a subtle transition. Just as the great Nāgārjuna once guided the King Udayibhadra with perfect wisdom, the SLP program is designed to help today’s leaders navigate through the turbulent troposphere of uncertainty and chaos, and rise into the vast, serene stratosphere—welcoming a profoundly fulfilling second half of life while simultaneously opening the gateway to the crucial first half of the next life.
To empower one’s second-half-of-life endeavors with profound wisdom is, in fact, the most skillful means of opening the first half of one’s next life journey. The two are not separate—they are one and the same. This is the unique educational philosophy at the heart of the SLP program.
